Jan Reynders (Men Engage)
Jan Reynders holds an MA degree in Development Studies. He has worked in international development for over 40 years, hands-on in the field in Bangladesh and Afghanistan and as manager and gender policy advisor in a Dutch funding agency.
Since 1994, Reynders works as senior consultant and activist in the fields of gender justice, women’s rights, sexual and reproductive health and rights, engaging boys and men in gender based violence prevention, quality education and sustainable development.
He conducts participatory evaluations and trainings and has been involved in research, policy development, programme design, change management and staff coaching, visioning and strategising in over 45 countries in Asia and Africa, including fragile/post conflict states. He works with community based-, local-, (inter)national civil society organisations (NGOs), international social change networks, technical assistance and funding agencies, governments, UN agencies and academic/research institutions.
He sits on the steering committee of the international MenEngage network (Europe chapter) and is a member of Share-Net International, the Knowledge Platform on sexual and reproductive health and rights and HIV prevention. He serves on the board of the international Gender and Water Alliance (GWA) and he is active in the Dutch Gender Platform (WO=MEN).
